Ryan Findlay – Counsellor.

Ryan combines his astute and intuitive clinical skills together with his warmth and sensitivity to create bespoke therapeutic experiences for each client.

Ryan’s approach to therapy is focused on facilitating his clients to understand WHY a disorder or dysfunction may be present. It is only through self-understanding that we can begin to transform how we think, feel and experience life.

Before joining Optimal Wellbeing, Ryan worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in government-funded mental health service for young people and families in the local region.

He also holds a Bachelor of Naturopathic medicine, granting Ryan a unique understanding of the link between mental and physical wellbeing.

His approach is also informed by his own challenges and breakthroughs, including several years of his own personal therapy.

Ryan draws on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches including – Mindfulness informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Buddhist Psychology.
