Osteopathy – Putting Balance into Your Life

By Dr Nick Bradley | July 18, 2017

With the busyness of life and the many distractions that influence our priorities, sometimes we find our lives get out of balance – and our bodies soon let us know!
Symptoms such as stiffness, joint and muscular pain, and headaches start to plague us.

When the musculoskeletal system gets out of balance, due to the likes of injury, poor posture or repetitive movements, you will experience symptoms such as joint pain, which is a sure sign that something is out of balance within your body. Rather than simply treat the symptom with short-term remedies, an Osteopathic therapist will target the underlying cause of the pain, to bring about long-term healing and lessen the chance of a reoccurrence or further injury.

The philosophy of Osteopathy states that when the body is in a state of harmonious balance it can heal itself from injury or disease.

Here at Optimum Wellbeing Osteopathy our therapists are highly trained, with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the body’s structures and systems; the relationship between the joints, muscles, ligaments and tissues. Our aim is to help your body restore itself and maintain its natural balance, which enables it to function at its optimal healthy level. This is also vitally important in the prevention of age related joint and muscular pain, arthritis and degenerative conditions such as osteoporosis.

In the case of active and athletic people, joint and muscle injuries are common. If untreated the body falls out of alignment; putting pressure on muscles and joints such as knees, resulting in wear and tear and chronic pain. With the correct osteopathic treatment body balance can be regained avoiding invasive treatments such as surgery and/or prolonged pain medication (which is only treating the symptom).

Undertaking Osteopathic treatment by an allied health professional, such as our dedicated team at Optimum Wellbeing Osteopathy Clinic will:

  • Improve mobility and body balance
  • Provide you with strengthening and flexibility exercises to improve whole body health, prevent injury, help improve physical strength and endurance
  • Provide a synergy of therapies including osteopathy, remedial massage and naturopathy
